That is how fast I walk.   At least that is how fast I walked home today.  In ninety degree heat.  (It didn’t sound impressive enough without the temperature.)  That is about my normal pace, but I don’t usually maintain it in heat.

I talked on the phone while I walked which takes my mind off the heat (although it increases the flow of sweat to at least one ear–I suggest alternating between them).  I wasn’t working today so I went to my parents’ and watered their garden as well as I could before it got really hot.  I also tried to train a pine tree to grow where I think it should.

It’s a Mugo pine–an ornamental, sparsely-branched pine that tends to be in Asian gardens–and some of the branches are laying on one another and that leads to the needles turning yellow.  My arms turned red.  I sort of forgot that I have a reaction to pine trees, so I have little red bumps on my arms.  I know, I’m as bright as they come.

So, I watered and played with a pine tree and bugged Monet.  He loves me very much, when he is not hating me very much.  That’s the kind of relationship we have: love/hate.  It works for us.   This was taken while I was in his good favor.  He sure is pretty when he isn’t trying to chew off my arm.

Now I am home and spending money.  I ordered a citrus juicer from Amazon (I juice a lot of citrus; it is an essential item for me), and two movies, which are not essential, but paid for themselves if you consider that I cancelled the Netflix membership (my sister hasn’t noticed yet).  Midnight, a movie recommended to me a couple of years by an on-line friend, is finally available on DVD so I had to get that.

The other is called Automatons, it was made by MonsterPants and features an occasional actor whose online group (which has nothing to do with acting or movies) I moderate, when I remember that I am the moderator.  It’s slow; there’s not much to do.  I could remove posts just to gaslight people, but I guess that would be an abuse of my power.  Such as it is.

I guess that’s about it.  I should consider the possibility of thinking about maybe cooking dinner at some point.
