I was looking at my blog stats and I find it fairly interesting to see what brings people here and where they go when they leave. For instance, after being here, people are three times as likely to click the link to Don’s blog than any other on my blogroll. Do any of my regulars come here first and then move on to the Doncast, or is my description of his blog more appealing to visitors?
More interesting (or disturbing) is what brings them here. Today, the following searches ranked the most referrals here: “Cat Boy,” “Ollalieberries,” “Figaro cat,” and “icebreakers for Christian teens.” Yesterday the top searches were: “how to care for cats,” “asshole boy movie,” schooldude sucks,” and “dress up catboy light.” Some of these may or may not be searches for porn, but there were a few that absolutely were- they were very vivid.
And I’m sure the searcher was highly disappointed to arrive here, what with everyone fully dressed and not urinating on themselves.
As for the number one search that brings people here (aside from numerous variations on the words “cat boy”), it is “Edmund Bagnell.” His link does appears below, but I mentioned him in only two posts; yet rarely a day goes by that someone does not end up here while looking for him. Good for you Edmund.
Less frequent searches, but ones that amused me in their specificness were the following: “Sondheim house Turtle Bay NY,” “gelato on columbus in north beach,” and “i regret everything lyrics lupone”
That first one is probably some Sondheim stalker- can you imagine? (I have it narrowed down to two houses- call me.)
The second one should go to Cafe Grecco.
And the third should listen to the song and write the lyrics down because I haven’t the time to do it for you right now.

Funny you posted this, as I was contemplating a very similar post at Throwing Spoons. Many of the Google searches on mine make sense, but there have been a couple lately that were really out there.

what are you using to get all this information? I downloaded something a year ago, but it just tells me that no one ever visits my blog, which is not true, of course.

In wordpress, there is a section where you can view all sorts of stats- where people link from and to, online searches that turned up your site, how many visits per day, if people link you in a post of theirs, etc. I don’t know that blogger has anything like that (I haven’t signed into my account in months).
I no longer have a map (it doesn’t seem to work with this template) so I don’t know where the people who land here are located, but I know everything else. Oh, and if you comment anonymously, even I don’t know who you are, despite all the info it tells me.

i raise my hand among those who stumbled upon your site through the key words “figaro cat”. i was actually looking for info on the disney character but opened your site anyway. what a surprise! your cat and mine not only share the same name, they also look like they’re twins! i’ll send you a link later.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment (and not being one of the porn seekers).
